Happy New Year!
The end of the year was so busy with many things that my Blog suffered from no posts!  I had some positive results with eco-dyeing silk scarfs and plan to do more.  I didn't give any as gifts this year because I'm not totally satisfied with my results yet.  More to come!

I had a wonderful Holiday Season and Merry Christmas with my family and friends. I love having each and every one of you in my life.

I had a few of my friends over for "Holiday Dinner at Diane's" and craft time.  The craft I had chosen was too complicated to finish before they left for home.  We will get together sometime to finish the "snowmen ornaments." My friend Gerri brought along a wonderful little craft to do.  We made small paper pocketbooks!  I put mine on the Christmas Tree as an ornament. She saved the day!

I completed the queen size log cabin quilt I've been making for Ronnie!  I worked on and off for a few years sewing the scrap fabric blocks.  I had it professionally quilted then I made and attached the binding.  He was Very Pleased with his gift.

My children and their spouses gave me a wonderful Christmas gift.  We will be going to RI in June to the Newport Flower Show and Mansion Tours. I know we will have a wonderful time and I'm very excited and looking forward to it!  Speaking of flowers:

I thought my amaryllis was going to have only one blossom this year.  Not so!  It has three and it's such a beautiful flower.  And both of my Christmas cactus blossomed beautifully for Thanksgiving!

My dear friends Muffie and Norman gave me a gift certificate to Dharma Trading Co. "your one stop shop for fiber art supplies"!

Yipee!

Wishing Everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!

More Eco-Dyeing with Leaves

I'm still working at it.  I gathered some leaves this afternoon.  I bundled them up in white silk scarves and now they are cooling down in the dye pot.  I used red cabbage as the dye.  Time will tell.  I have to wait until tomorrow when I unwind, rinse, dry and take a look.  It will be washed in gentle detergent and hung to dry.  Then comes the iron.  Keeping fingers crossed.

BEAUTIFUL OCTOBER IN NEW ENGLAND!

The fall in New England is just so beautiful!  We've had some great sunny days to enjoy the fantastic fall foliage. I took a trip to the White Mountains National Park with a fellow friend/photographer.  We had a great time.  So many stops along the way to catch another great shot, one after the other!  We also took a 10 minute walk up a hill to view a lovely waterfall.  It was a perfect day for photos.  Here are a few of my shots from the day. Enjoy!

I've also been having fun doing some "Eco-Dyeing".  Please see my previous post.  I've been out gathering more leaves and flowers for more dyeing projects and I'll be back to share photos soon.
