Lovely, Messy March!

It felt wonderful to turn the calendar over to MARCH!  Spring is surely on its way to us. All this snow has to melt soon.             Daylight Savings time Sunday too!
Newfound Lake, NH  taken a week ago.  So much snow!!!

Busy Quilting and Playing:
My brother Sidney celebrated his 75th birthday on February 28th.  I mailed him a lap quilt I had finally finished for him.  He's an avid angler so for his quilt I transferred some of his fishing adventures to the center of each block.  He and his family lived in London for 12 years and he was happy to fish the waters of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Norway, Russia and more through the years.  Raised in New England he had his favorite fishing spots in the US too.  Errol, NH,  Newfound Lake, Merrymeeting, the Pemi River, Merrimack River etc.  My oldest brother, Dickie often fished along side him when they were youngsters and into adulthood.  Sadly Dickie has passed away  a few years ago and we all miss him dearly.  Sidney is a fly fishermen and usually catch and release.  Here are a few pictures of the quilt I made for him.

Today I went to some thrift shops with my friend Kathleen.  We went searching for silk neckties to use in dyeing some silk scarves. I learned from a blog I follow that you can use the ties to transfer the dye from the ties on to the silk scarves!!  I bought a few ties and I'm anxious to give it a try.  You can see the process on the blog Bloom, Bake, Create with Lynda.  Thanks for the inspiration Lynda!

Play a Little Each Day :)
Peace,
Diane
